Athletics Tauranga provides coaching for all athletes of all ages and abilities

Val Bromley

Competed in England in sprints and jumps for School and Club to provincial level prior to emigrating to New Zealand in 1974 with her husband, Chris.
Began coaching in 1977 by taking the first of many Athletics NZ courses covering sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws evolving into heptathlon, octathlon and decathlon.(7, 8 and 10 events).

Coached several athletes to NZ Secondary School and National T&F titles in a number of different events.  Also had athletes represent New Zealand at Oceania Champs, Sydney Youth Olympics, Commonwealth Youth Champs and three athletes qualified for the World Youth Championships for the octathlon and heptathlon.

Bev Savage

Is a competitive athlete in the throwing events at National level and Internationally at Masters Games achieving Games titles and World Records in the Hammer.
Twenty years of coaching A.W.D athletes resulting in gold medallists at World Paralympic Games and World Records.
Bev is currently still competing and coaching local throwers.

Murray Savage

A sprinter in his competitive days taking provincial titles and competed in National finals and placed in World Masters Games.
Forty years of coaching sprinters to success at School, Provincial, National and International level.  He also coaches A.W.D athletes to World Record performances and titles.

Also other top runners such as Ben Ruthe and Craig Kirkwood are coaching other athletes. We also provide great training sessions held at various places around Tauranga. More information will be posted in the coming weeks
